Full Definition

أَخِيذٌ i. q. مَأْخُوذٌ [Taken; taken with the hand; &c.].
2 A captive: fem. with ة. Hence the saying, أَكْذَبُ مِنْ أَخِيذِ الجَيشِ More lying than the captive of the army: meaning him whom his enemies have taken captive, and whom they desire to conduct them to his people, and who lies to them to his utmost. [See another ex. voce صَبْحَانُ.]
3 A strange, or foreign, old man.
