أَنُوفٌ A man very disdainful, scornful, or indignant; very disdainfully and proudly incompliant or refusing; who disdains, or scorns, exceedingly, to do ignoble deeds: pl. أُنُفٌ.
2 A woman whose nose has a pleasant odour: or whom one likes to smell: or who disdains, scorns, abstains from, shuns, or dislikes, that in which is no good.
