أَهْلِىٌّ

Full Definition

أَهْلِىٌّ A domestic beast [or bird]; a beast [or bird] that keeps to the dwelling [of its owner]; contr. of وَحْشِىٌّ; as also أَهِلٌ . You say حُمُرٌ أَهْلِيَّةٌ [Domestic asses]: occurring in a trad., in which their flesh is forbidden to be eaten.
