Full Definition

اثلجIV It was, or became, snowy.
2 He reached, came upon, or lighted on, snow; as also ثلج [written without any syll. signs, app. ]. He entered upon [a tract, or time, or season, of] snow.
3 أَثْلَجَتْنَا السَّمَآءُ: and أُثْلِجَتِ الأَرْضُ: see 1.
4 [Thus the verb is intrans. and trans. And hence,] أَثْلَجَتْ نَفْسِى: see 1.
5 And اثلجهُ He rejoiced him; made him joyful, glad, or happy. And اثلج صَدْرِى It healed and tranquillized me. And مَا أَثْلَجَنِى بِهٰذَا الأَمْرِ How joyful, or happy, am I made by this thing, or event!
6 [Hence also,] حَفَرَ حَتَّى اثلج He dug until he reached the clay, or mud, or the cold of the moist earth, or the moist earth and the water.
7 اثلج مَآءُ البِئْرِ The water of the well ceased, or stopped. And hence, اثلجت عَنْهُ الحُمَّى The fever quitted him.
