النَّارُI , Present.T اَجُجَ and اَجِجَ [the former contr. to analogy, and the latter agreeable therewith, in the case of an intrans. verb of this class,] Verbal.Noun أَجِيحٌ, The fire burned, burned up, burned brightly, or fiercely, blazed, or flamed, or blazed or flamed fiercely; as also and [written with the disjunctive alif اِيتَجَّت]: or made a sound by its blazing or flaming.
2 أَجَّ, Present.T اَجُجَ contr. to analogy, and اَجِجَ but this is rejected by AA, Verbal.Noun أَجٌّ and أَجِيحٌ, He ran, making a [rustling] sound, or noise, such as is termed حَفِيفٌ. And, Present.T اَجُجَ Verbal.Noun أَجٌّ, He hastened, or was quick, in his pace; walked quickly; or went a pace between a walk and a run; said of a man; and of a camel: or he made a sound, or noise, in his pace or going, like that of the blazing, or flaming, of fire. You say, أَجَّ أَجَّةَ الظَّلِيمِ [He made a rustling sound in going along, like that of the ostrich]. And أَجَّ, Present.T اَجِجَ [so in the TA,] Verbal.Noun أَجِيحٌ, It made a sound or noise [produced by his running]. And أَجِيحٌ signifies also The sounding of water in pouring forth.
3 أَجَّ, Present.T اَجُجَ Verbal.Noun أُجُوحٌ, It was, or became, such as is termed أُجَاح.
