Full Definition
اقردIV
He became still, quiet, or tranquil, in consequence of his having his ticks pulled off. [And hence] He went at a gentle pace, not shaking, or jolting, his rider.
2 He was, or became, silent, still, or quiet, and submissive, and feigned himself dead. (S, K. See قَرِدَ in two places.)
3 He clave to the ground by reason of abjectness, or submissiveness. See art. خَرِدَ.
