انحطّVII , quasi-pass. of حَطَّهُ; It was, or became, put down; said of [a load, or any other thing from a back;] a camel's saddle; a horse's saddle; [&c.]
2 He, or it, descended; went down, or downwards, or down a declivity; from above to below. You say, انحطّ فِى حَدَرٍ [He descended a declivity]. (S and TA in art. حدر, from a trad.)
3 [ He became lowered, or degraded.]
4 Said of a price: see 1.
5 Said of a camel: see 1.
6 Also He, or it, went back, or backward: went away: perished.
