Full Definition

بَأَرَI , Present.T ـَ He sunk, or dug, a well; as also .
2 Also, Present.T as above, Verbal.Noun بَأْرٌ, He dug a [hollow such as is termed] بُؤْرَة, in which to cook.
3 Also, Present.T as above, and so the Verbal.Noun; and ; He hid, or concealed, a thing: and he stored it, or laid it up, for a time of need. Hence a hollow dug in the ground is termed بُؤْرَةٌ.
4 You say also, خَيْرًا, and بَأَرَهُ, He did good beforehand: or, accord. to some, he, as it were, did good beforehand for himself, having laid it up, or concealed it, for himself: so says El-Umawee: or he laid up for himself in store concealed good: or he did good concealedly: and ائتبر signifies the same.
