Full Definition

بَرُودٌ : see بَارِدٌ.
2 Beverage that cools the heat of thirst.
3 Also, and مَبْرُودٌ , Bread upon which water is poured; which is moistened with cold water: eaten by women to make them fat. The subst. applied to such bread is بَرِيدٌ
4 بَرُودٌ [as an epithet in which the quality of a subst. predominates] also signifies Cold water which one pours upon his head.
5 Anything with which a thing is rendered cold, or cooled.
6 A collyrium which cools the eye; also termed بَرُودُ العَيْنِ.
7 بَرُودُ الظِّلِّ Pleasant in social intercourse: applied alike to the male and the female.
8 ثَوْبٌ بَرُودٌ A garment without nap: and a garment that is not warm nor soft.
