تأبّاهُV He adopted him as a father; as also ; (M in art. اب;) and so تأبّاهُ أَبًا, accord. to A'Obeyd: [or,] accord. to A'Obeyd, you say, تَأَبَّيْتُ أَبًا I adopted a father: and you say also, اِسْتَأَبَّ أَبًا and اِسْتَأْبَبَ أَبًا he adopted a father.
