Lane's Arabic-English Lexicon

تَرَاكِ

Root: ترك

Full Definition

تَرَاكِ an imperative verbal noun, meaning اُتْرُكْ [Leave thou, &c.]. Hence the saying, تَرَاكِ تَرَاكِ صُحْبَةَ الأَتْرَاكِ [Leave thou, leave thou, the companionship of the Turks]. Yoo says that تَرَاكَ is a dial. var. of the same; but this is only when it is used as a prefixed noun, as in تَرَاكَهَا for تَرَاكِهَا.
