تَفَاْضَلَVI

2 التَّفَاضُلُ بَيْنَ القَوْمِ means The differing in superiority, or excellence, of some over others, among the people, or party. And one says, الأَشْيَآءُ تَتَفَاضَلُ [meaning The things are unequal, or unlike, one to another, in respect of excellence; contr. of تَتَسَاوَى: see also 3].
