2 It or a skin for water, &c., and anything that may be extended by drawing or pulling, stretched.

4 تمدّد He stretched himself: he walked with an elegant, and a proud, and self-conceited, gait, with an affected inclining of his body from side to side, and stretching out his arms: syn. تَمَطَّى. [Both these verbs are commonly used in the present day in the former sense.] See also 4.
