Full Definition

تمعّطV It (hair, S, Msb, [in the TA, الرجل is inadvertently put for الشعر, and copied in the TK, with the addition of شعره in the explanation,]) fell off by degrees, or part after part, upon the ground, by reason of disease, or the like; as also امتعط , and إِمَّعَطَ , of the measure إِفْتَعَلَ, or [rather] of the measure إِنْفَعَلَ [originally إِنْمَعَطَ]: and [accord. to some, but see 1, above,] مَعِطَ , Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun مَعَطٌ, it fell off. You say also, تَمَعَّطَتْ أَوْبَارُهُ His fur became scattered.
