جَارُودٌ An unlucky man; one who strips off prosperity by his ill luck; or as though he stripped off prosperity by his ill luck.
2 Also, and جَارُودَةٌ , or سَنَةٌ جَارُودٌ, A year of drought: or a year of severe drought and dryness of the earth; as though it destroyed men.
