جَرَدَI , Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun جَرْدٌ: see 2, in nine places.
2 جَرَدَ الجَرَادُ الأَرْضَ, Present.T and Verbal.Noun as above, The locusts stripped the land of all its herbage; ate what was upon the land.
3 جَرَدَهُمُ الجَارُودُ [The year of drought destroyed them].

def.2 جُرِدَتِ الأَرْضُ The land had its herbage eaten by locusts; was smitten by locusts.
2 جُرِدَ said of seed-produce, It was smitten [or eaten] by locusts.
3 And said of a man, He had a complaint of his belly from having eaten locusts.
