جَزَازٌ and جِزَازٌ The act of cutting, or shearing, wool, and hair; and of reaping; and of cutting seed-produce before it has attained to maturity; and of cutting off the fruit of palm-trees: and the time, or season, of shearing sheep [and the like]. You say, هٰذَا زَمَنُ الجَزَازِ, and الجِزَازِ, This is the time of cutting, or shearing, wool: and of reaping: and of cutting off the fruit of palm-trees.
