جِلْوَةٌ

Root: جلو

Full Definition

جِلْوَةٌ A female slave, or some other thing, that is presented, or given, by the husband to his bride at the time of her being displayed to him. One says, مَا جِلْوَتُهَا [What is her bridal present?]; and is answered, “ Such a thing. ”
