Full Definition

خَارِصٌ One who computes by conjecture the quantity of the fruit upon palm-trees: pl. خُرَّاصٌ.
2 A liar; as also خَرَّاصٌ . قُتِلَ الخَرَّاصُونَ, in the Kur [li. 10], means, Slain be the liars; i. e., cursed be they; who say that Mohammad is a poet, and the like thereof, conjecturing that which they know not: or it may mean, they who only opine, and do not ascertain; and therefore act according to that which they know not.
