Full Definition

خاطرIII , and بِقَوْمِهِ, Verbal.Noun مُخَاطَرَةٌ; and بقومه; He placed himself at the point of, or near to, destruction; perilled, imperilled, endangered, jeoparded, hazarded, or risked, himself; and his people or party: or خاطر بنفسه signifies he did that in which fear predominated: or he caused himself to be on the brink of destruction or of attaining dominion. And خاطر بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ He threw himself and his property into destruction. And لَهُ كَذَا He hazarded, or risked, to him such a thing. [See also 4, below.]
2 خاظرهُ عَلَى كَذَا, or عَلَى مَالٍ, Verbal.Noun as above, He laid a bet, wager, or stake, with him, for such a thing, or for property. [See, again, 4.]
