Full Definition

خُلَاعٌ An affection resembling what is termed خَبَلٌ [q. v.], and insanity, or diabolical possession, which befalls a man: or weakness, and fear or fright: and خَوْلَعٌ and خَيْلَعٌ [in like manner] signify fear, or fright, affecting the heart, occasioning evil imagination, and weakness, as though it were a touch of insanity, or of diabolical possession, in a man, and in the heart.
