خُلْعَةٌ

Full Definition

خُلْعَةٌ A state of divorcement [for a ransom given by the wife, or for her property given by her as a ransom to release her from her husband, or] for a gift, or a compensation, from the wife, or from another. [See 8: and see also خُلْعٌ.] You say, وَقَعَتْ بَيْنَهُمَا الخُلْعَةُ [Divorcement, or] separation, [for a ransom, &c. or] for [a gift, or] a compensation, took place between them two.

def.2 The best, or choice part, of property, or of camels or the like; so called because it takes away the heart of him who looks at it; as also خِلْعَةٌ .
