[the latter irreg.,] Verbal.Noun خُمُومٌ and خَمٌّ, It was, or became, stinking; said of what is roasted, or cooked; or mostly said of what is cooked, and what is roasted: or became altered for the worse in odour; said of roasted meat, and of meat cut into strips and dried: or
became stinking after having been thoroughly cooked: and said also of milk, in like manner, it became altered by the bad odour of the skin, and corrupt: and
signifies the same, in both cases: and خَمٌّ also, said of a cake of bread not thoroughly baked, signifies the becoming altered in odour. [Hence,] خَمَّ, Verbal.Noun خُمُومٌ, is likewise said of a man. And one says, هُوَ لَا يَخِمُّ, meaning He will not become altered from his state, or condition, or from his liberality, and generosity. And هُوَ السَّمْنُ
لَا يَخِمُّ, [lit.] meaning [It is the clarified butter] that will not become altered [for the worse]: a prov., relating to a man when one speaks well of him, and praises him. And هُوَ السُّمُّ لَا يَخِمُّ, i. e. It is unmixed poison.
2 خَمٌّ signifies also The act of weeping violently. You say, هُوَ يَخِمُّ He weeps violently.

signifies the same, in both cases.
