ـَ; Verbal.Noun خُمُودٌ and خَمْدٌ; The fire subsided; its flaming; or blazing, ceasing; but its embers remaining unextinguished: when its embers have become extinguished, you say of it, هَمَدَت: or it died away, and became utterly extinguished.
