Full Definition

دَالٌ One of the letters of the alphabet, (د,) the place of utterance of which is near to that of ت: masc. and fem.; so that you say دَالٌ حَسَنٌ and حَسَنَةٌ [a beautiful د]: the pl. is أَدْوَالٌ if masc., and دَالَاتٌ [if fem.; the latter the more common].
