دَرَهَI
, and لَهُمْ, Present.T
ـَ Verbal.Noun دَرْهٌ, He repelled from them, or defended them; like دَرَأَ, from which it is [said to be] formed by substitution, as هَرَاقَ from أَرَاقَ; and so دَرَهَهُمْ: or he spoke for them, and repelled from them or defended them.
2 دَرَهَ عَلَيْهِمْ, Present.T as above, and so the Verbal.Noun, or the Verbal.Noun is دُرُوهٌ, He came upon them suddenly, or unawares, whence they did not expect him; like دَرَأَ: and [simply] he came upon them.
3 دَرْهٌ also signifies The being bold, or daring.
def.2 دَرَهَهُ; so in the handwriting of Sgh, but accord. to the K درّههُ , Verbal.Noun تَدْرِيهٌ; i. q. تَنَكَّرَ لَهُ [He became changed in countenance to him by anger so that he did not know him; or he met him in a morose manner].
