[the latter anomalous,] Verbal.Noun دَرٌّ and دُرُورٌ, It was, or became, copious, or abundant, and flowed, or streamed; it flowed, or streamed, copiously, or abundantly; and so the water of the eye, or tears, and the like, &c.; as also
: and, said of milk, it ran, or flowed: and it collected [or became excerned] in the udder from the ducts and other parts of the body.
2 [Hence,] said of sweat, It flowed like as milk flows.
3 And of the tax called خَرَاج, Its produce became abundant.
4 And [in like manner] one says, لَاَدَرَّ دَرُّهُ: see دَرٌّ, below.
5 And [hence,] دَرَّ also signifies It was, or became, consecutive. (K in art. دهدر.) And It continued; as in the phrase, دَرَّ لَهُ الشَّىْءٌ [The thing continued to him]. (Sh, TA in art. جرى.)
6 And, said of a horse, Present.Tدَرِرَ
Verbal.Noun دَرِيرٌ and دَرَّةٌ, He ran vehemently: or ran easily and without interruption.
7 And of herbage, Verbal.Noun دَرٌّ, It became tangled, or luxuriant, by reason of its abundance.
8 One says also, of a she-camel, دَرَّتْ, and دَرَّتْ بِلَبَنِهَا, Present.Tدَرُرَ

9 And [hence,] دَرَّتْ حَلُوبَةُ المُسْلِمِينَ, and لِقْحَتُهُمْ, [lit. The milch-camel of the Muslims yielded milk copiously,] meaning the tribute, or taxes, pertaining to the Muslims poured in abundantly.
10 And دَرَّتِ السَّمَآءُ بِالمَطَرِ, Present.Tدَرُرَ
Verbal.Noun دَرٌّ and دُرُورٌ, The sky poured down rain abundantly.
11 And دَرَّبِمَا عِنْدَهُ He produced, or gave forth, what he had.
12 And دَرَّتِ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى أَهْلِهَا The world was bountiful to its inhabitants.
13 And دَرَّتِ السُّوقُ, (S in art. غر, and K,) Verbal.Noun دِرَّةٌ, The market became brisk, its goods selling much; contr. of
غَارَّت.
14 And دَرَّتِ العُرُوقُ The ducts, or veins, became filled with milk, or with blood.
15 And دَرَّ العِرْقُ, Verbal.Noun دُرُورٌ, The vein pulsated uninterruptedly.
16 And دَرًّ السَّهْمُ, Present.Tدَرِرَ
Verbal.Noun دُرُورٌ, The arrow turned round well upon the nail of the left thumb, [app. so as to produce a sound, (see حَنَّانٌ,)] being turned with the thumb and fore finger of the right hand [for the purpose of testing its sonorific quality]: the arrow does not thus turn, nor does it produce the kind of sound termed حَنِين, unless in consequence of the hardness of its wood, and its goodly straightness, and its compact make.
