دِلَاصٌ
Shining, or glistening; as also
دَلِيصٌ , and
دُلَامِصٌ , (S and M in this art., and K in art. دلمص,) with an augmentative م, of the measure فُعَامِلٌ accord. to Sb, but فُعَالِلٌ accord. to others, [see an ex. in a verse cited voce خَمِيصَةٌ,] and
دُلَمِصٌ , which is a contraction of that next preceding, and in like manner
دُمَالِصٌ , and
دُمَلِصٌ , (S in this art, and K in art. دملص,) which last two are formed by transposition from the two next preceding: (TA in art. دملص:) or, as also
دَلِيصٌ and
دَلِصٌ and
دَلَّاصٌ , shining, or glistening, and smooth; or soft, and shining, or glistening, and smooth. You say, دِرْعٌ دِلَاصٌ and
دُلَامِصٌ A coat of mail smooth, soft, and shining, or glistening: pl. دِلَاصٌ, like the sing., and دُلُصٌ. And
ذَهَبٌ دُلَامِصٌ
Glittering gold. And
اِمْرَأَةٌ
A shining, or glistening woman. And
رَأْسٌ دُلَمِصٌ
A head bald in the fore part. And
دَلِصٌ , or
دَلِيصٌ , and
, applied to a man, signify i. q.
أَزْلَقُ; i. e., Hairless and glistening in body: fem. of the last, دَلْصَآءُ.
دَلَّاصٌ , also, applied to a man, signifies Very smooth: and applied to a she-camel, and to land (أَرْض), smooth: but it is not applied to a he-camel. And
دَلِصٌ and دَلِصَةٌ, applied to land, signify Even, or level: pl. دِلَاصٌ.
