دَاصَI
, Present.T يَدِيصُ, Verbal.Noun دَيَصَانٌ and دَيْصٌ, He, or it, declined; turned aside, or from the right course or direction; syn. زَاغَ, in the copies of the S, [and in the CK, and in a copy of the A,] رَاغَ, with رَآءَ [instead of زاى], and حَادَ: he deviated from the road.
2 He fled from war, or battle.
3 It moved about beneath one's hand. You say, دَاصَتِ السَّلْعَةُ, or الغُدَّةُ, which is the same, inf. ns. as above, The ganglion wabbled, or moved to and fro, or went and came, being put in motion by the hand, or beneath the hand of him who put it in motion, or beneath the skin: or slipped about (تَزَلَّقَت) between the skin and the flesh. And in like manner you say, دَاصَتِ السَّمَكَةُ فِى المَآءِ [The fish glided about, to and fro, in the water].
4 Also, Verbal.Noun دَيْصٌ, He was, or became, brisk, lively, or sprightly: said of a groom.
5 And He was, or became, low, or vile, after highness of rank or condition.
