رَبَثَهُI , Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun رَبْثٌ, He hindered, withheld, restrained, or prevented, him, and retarded him; or diverted him, by occupying him otherwise; as also ربّثهُ : and he kept him, or held him, back: and he deceived, deluded, beguiled, circumvented, or outwitted, him. You say, رَبَثَهُ عَنْ حَاجَتِهِ, and أَمْرِهِ, Present.T as above, and so the Verbal.Noun; and ربّثهُ , Verbal.Noun تَرْبِيثٌ; He hindered, withheld, restrained, or debarred, him; and turned, or diverted, him; from the thing that he wanted, and from his affair, by pretexts.
