Full Definition

رَصَّهُI , Present.T رَصُصَ Verbal.Noun رَصٌّ, He stuck it together, one part to another, so that there might be no interstice in it; joined it together; namely, a building; and , Verbal.Noun تَرْصِيصٌ, signifies the same; and so رَصْرَصَهُ : or these three verbs all signify he made it firm and compact: or signifies he made it firm and strong: and رُصَّ, said of anything, it was made firm, and joined together. And hence, القُمْقُمَةَ He tied (شَدَّ [perhaps a mistranscription for سَدَّ he stopped up]) firmly the mouth of the قمقمة [a kind of vessel]. And رَصَّ بَابَهُ He closed, or locked, his door; as also لَصَّهُ, q. v. (TA in art. لص.)
