ـُ; Verbal.Noun of the former سِمَنٌ and سَمَانَةٌ, or the former is a simple subst. [and the latter by rule Verbal.Noun of the latter verb]; He was, or became, fat, or plump; or in the condition of having much flesh and fat: and
تسمّن has a like meaning [i. e. he was, or became, fattened, rendered plump, or made to have much flesh and fat]. A poet says,
2 [Hence,] سَمِنَ البُرُّ, Verbal.Noun سِمَنٌ, The wheat became full in the grain. (A in art. صفر.)
