شَاهِقٌ

Full Definition

شَاهِقٌ High, or lofty; applied to a mountain, and to a building, &c.: or, applied to a mountain, high and inaccessible: pl. شَوَاهِقُ: you say جِبَالٌ شَاهِقَةٌ and شَاهِقَاتٌ and شَوَاهِقُ.
2 Applied to a vein [or an artery], Pulsing upwards: a term of the physicians.
3 ذُو شَاهِقٍ A man whose anger is vehement: wrongly expl. in the K by the words لَا يَشْتَدُّ غَضَبُهُ: and so ذُو صَاهِلٍ. And A stallion [camel] Excited by lust, assaulting [the she-camels], and causing a sound to be heard from his inside; as also ذُو صَاهِلٍ.
