2 [Hence,] شَدُّ النَّهَارِ, and شَدُّ الضُّحَى, The time when the day, and the morning, is advanced, the sun being high. One says, جِئْتُكَ شَدَّ النَّهَارِ, and شَدَّ الضُّحَى, and فِى شَدِّ النَّهَارِ, and فِى شَدِّ الضُّحَى, I came to thee in the time when the day, and the morning, was advanced, the sun being high.
2 [Hence,] شَدُّ النَّهَارِ, and شَدُّ الضُّحَى, The time when the day, and the morning, is advanced, the sun being high.
