شُوَاظٌ and شِوَاظٌ, occurring in the Kur [lv. 35], where Ibn-Ketheer read شِوَاظٌ, Flame without smoke: or smoke of fire: and heat of fire: and heat of the sun: or a piece of fire in which is no smoke: or flame of fire: or only of fire and something mixed therewith.
2 [And hence,] Vehemence of thirst: or simply, thirst. You say, جَمَلٌ بِهِ شواظٌ A thirsting camel.
