Full Definition

طَأْمَنَ
Q. Q. 1 with ء, or , without ء, for the ء in اِطْمَأَنَّ [q. v. infrà] is [said to be] for the purpose of preventing the combination of two quiescent letters, or طَامَنَهُ also, the former being the original, He bent down his back; he lowered it; and طَمْأَنَهُ signifies the same. [And in like manner one says of other things.]
2 And طَامَنَ الشَّىْءَ [or طَأْمَنَهُ], and طَمْأَنَهُ, He caused the thing to be, or become, still, in a state of rest, quiet, or calm.

def.2 And طَامَنَ مِنْهُ [or طَأْمَنَ], or طَمْأَنَ منه, He was, or became, at rest from it, namely, an affair, or event. [The Verbal.Noun of طأمن is طَأْمَنَةٌ, said in the TA to be syn. with اِطْمِئْنَانٌ. See also Q. Q. 4.]
