طِرَافٌ

Full Definition

طِرَافٌ The portion that is taken [app. meaning cut] from the extremities (أَطْرَاف) of corn, or seed-produce.
2 تَوَارَثُوا المَجْدَ طِرَفًا means عَنْ شَرَفٍ [i. e. They inherited, one after another, glory from nobility of ancestry].
