طُهْرَةٌ a subst. from التَّطْهِيرُ [and signifying A cleansing, or purification: and in this sense it was applied by the Christians to baptism]: or from طَهَّرَهُ بِالمَآءِ [and signifying a cleansing, or purification, by water]: or cleanness, or pureness.
