طَيَاI
, Present.T يَطْيُو, Verbal.Noun طُيُوٌّ; and طَيَى, Present.T يَطْمِى, Verbal.Noun طُمِىٌّ, thus in the M [as well as in the S], or طَمْىٌ, thus in the K and in the book of ISk; said of water, It became high, or it rose high, and filled the channel in which it flowed. [See also طَمَّ.]
2 And, both verbs, said of a plant, It became tall.
3 Also, said of the sea, and of a river, and of a well, It became full: so says Lth.
4 And طَمَتْ بِزَوْجِهَا She exalted herself with her husband; syn. اِرْتَفَعَتْ بِهِ; from طَمَا or طَمَى said of water: or she grinned at her husband.
