[app. One that drinks in the manner termed
عَبٌّ]. بَنُو العَبَّابِ is an appellation of a people of the Arabs who were thus called because they intermixed with the Persians so that their horses drank (عَبَّتْ, K, TA, i. e. شَرِبَتْ, TA) of the water of the Euphrates.
