mounted. So in the saying عَرَجَ
فِى الدَّرَجَةِ and فى السُّلَّمِ [He ascended, or mounted, the stair, or the series of steps, and the ladder]. And عَرَجَ فِى الشَّىْءٍ, and عَلَيْهِ, Present.T

ـِ Verbal.Noun عُرُوجٌ, He ascended, or mounted, upon the thing And عُرِجَ بِهِ means He was taken up to a high place; as, for instance, إِلَى عَنَانِ السَّمَآءِ [to the clouds of Heaven].
