A calamity, or misfortune: pl. عُضَلٌ and عُضْلٌ [which latter may be a coll. gen. n.]. One says, إِنَّهُ لَعُضْلَةٌ مِنَ العُضَلِ
Verily it is a calamity of the calamities [meaning a great calamity].
