عَقَارٌ

عَقَارٌ : see عَقَرَ النَّخْلَةَ.

def.2 Also Real, or immovable, property, (كُلُّ مَالٍ لَهُ أَصْلٌ, Mgh, or مِلْكٌ ثَابِتٌ لَهُ أَصْلٌ, Msb, or مَا لَهُ أَصْلٌ وَقَرَارٌ, KT,) [an estate] consisting of a house or land yielding a revenue; or such as land and a house; or such as a house and palm-trees: or simply, land yielding a revenue; syn. ضَيْعَةٌ; as also عُقْرَى : or land; or lands yielding revenues (syn. ضِيَاعٌ); and palmtrees; and the like: and palm-trees in particular: pl. عَقَائِرُ. You say مَا لَهُ دَارٌ وَلَا عَقَارٌ He has not a house nor land, or lands yielding revenues, or palm-trees.
2 Also Household goods, or furniture and utensils, which are not used except on the occasions of festivals, and necessary affairs of great importance, and the like: thus, with fet-h, accord. to AZ and IAar; and sometimes with damm [ عُقَارٌ ], thus accord. to As; but in saying so, he differs from the generality of authorities: or the best of furniture and the like, because none but the best is spread on the occasions of festivals: and the best of anything. One says فِى البَيْتِ عَقَارٌ حَسَنٌ In the house, or tent, are goodly furniture and utensils.
