A thing that hides, or conceals, a thing from one: and hence, a grave; and so
غَيَابَةٌ : one says, غَيَابُهُ and
meaning دُفِنَ فِى قَبْرِهِ [i. e. May he be buried in his grave]: an imprecation of death against the man.
