غيّفII
, Verbal.Noun تَغْيِيفٌ, He fled, or turned away and fled; and drew back, or drew back in fear; and was cowardly. You say, حَمَلَ فُلَانٌ فِى الحَرْبِ فَغَيَّفَ i. e. [Such a one charged, in war, or battle, and] was cowardly; or retreated, and was cowardly.
