فَدَّI , Present.T فَدِدَ Verbal.Noun فَدِيدٌ and فَدٌّ, He uttered his voice, called out, cried out, or vociferated: or did so vehemently: or raised his voice; and so فَدْفَدَ , said of a man, and of a camel: or they made a sound by running: or made a sound by running with their pastors and those driving them with singing: or he, or it, made a sound like that termed حَفِيفٌ; as also فَدْفَدَ , Verbal.Noun فَدْفَدَةٌ: and he ran, making a sound by his running.
2 فَدَّ, Present.T فَدِدَ Verbal.Noun فَدِيدٌ, It moved, or flapped, (حَثَّ,) its wings, expanding and contracting them.
3 He ran, fleeing. [See also R. Q. 1.]
4 فَدَّتِ الإِبِلُ The camels crushed the ground with their feet, by the vehemence of their tread. And فَدَّ, Present.T فَدِدَ Verbal.Noun فَدٌّ and فَدِيدٌ; and فَدْفَدَ ; He trod vehemently upon the ground, by reason of exultation, and briskness, liveliness, or sprightliness. [See also 2.]
