قَارِئٌ

Full Definition

قَارِئٌ as an epithet applied to a she-camel; pl. قَوَارِئُ: see 1, former half.

def.2 Also Reading, or reciting, the Kur-án [&c.]; or a reader, or reciter, thereof: and sometimes the ء is suppressed, so that one says قَارٍ: pl. قَرَأَةٌ and قُرَّآءٌ and قَارِئُونَ.
2 And syn. with قُرَّآءٌ, q. v.

def.4 هٰذَا وَقْتُ قَارِئِ الرِّيحِ means This is the time of the blowing of the wind.

def.5 It is also said to signify The top, or upper part, of a قَصْر [or pavilion, &c.].
