لَحِسَهُI
, or لَحِسَهُ بِلِسَانِهِ, Present.T
ـَ Verbal.Noun لَحْسٌ and مَلْحَسٌ and لَحْسَةٌ and لُحْسَةٌ, the last mentioned by ISk, He licked it; namely, a bowl, and a vessel: اللَّحْسُ is with the tongue: or لَحسَهُ
signifies he took what was upon it, or what adhered to its sides, with his tongue or his finger; the suffixed pronoun referring to a bowl or some other thing: and he took it with his tongue. It is said in a proverb, أَسْرَعُ
مِنْ لَحْسِ الكَلْبِ أَنْفَهُ [Quicker than the dog's licking his nose]. See also مَلْحَسٌ, below.
