مِخْشَفٌ : see خَشُوفٌ, in two places.
2 Also A guide of the way who travels, or goes about, with people by night: or who acts with a penetrative energy, and with sharpness, vigorousness, and effectiveness. A man bold, or daring, to encounter the night, or to encounter the terror of the night, or in night-journeying: or who goes about, or round about, by night; as also خَشُوفٌ : or this last, one who fears not by night: or who goes away boldly in the night or in any case.
3 المِخْشَفُ The lion; because of his boldness in going about: and so الخَشَّافُ .
