مَخْفَقٌ A place, or a level land, in which the سَرَاب [or mirage] quivers. [See also خِفْقَةٌ.]
2 And [the pl.] مَخَافِقُ signifies The places of setting [of stars]: and is used as [a sing.,] meaning the place of setting of a star. [See also خَافِقٌ.]
